I got this info from the current issue of Matilda Ziegler. I do intend to check it out but haven't done so yet, so please don't get pissed at me if it is not helpful. I'm just passing along info about the site, not endorsing it.

Web site. A new Web site aims to provide information
to the blind and visually impaired communities. There is a
job links page that is constantly updated; most of the
positions are specifically for those who are blind or
visually impaired. The site also has a discussion board
that focuses on the topics relevant to our community, as
well as a page of interviews with noted individuals who have
visual impairments. Resource and vendor links are other
components of visuallyimpairedandtheblind.com.

I went to
http://www.visuallyimpairedandtheblind.com.
and it's an interesting site. The only annoying thing is tht under employment, it just gives you a list of companies and their sites. I didn't actually any job listings so I'm assuming you have to look on those external sites to see what's available but I could be wrong. in any case, it's a great idea and thanks for posting.

Very nice concept. Before I got my job, I was looking for something like this. I'll pass this on. Thanks.

Well I'll have to check it out. I've been lookig for a job or seven years, so well before the economy tanked. And to be quite frank I don't believe many of the so-called voc rehab agencies seem to really care about what we want. I've come to the conclusion it's time to take matters into my own hands. Heck, maybe I should have done that from the beginning despite how ineffective it's been in the past.

i've noticed that to, about the rehab counsellors mine sure keeps wanting me to do phone work when she has already said that if it don't particularly interest me that i don't have to do it. I'd love to do something with braille or medical transcribing or court reporting. the court reporting would be great. i will look in to this as well thanks for posting

I'll check this out. thanks. I'm definitely in need of a job that doesn't require a college education, because until I'm a US citizen in three years, I can't get financial Aid, as far as I'm aware, and the college expenses would have to come out of my own pocket, so I'm looking to get a job that pays something so I can help out with bills and other such expenses until I can become a citizen.
